Now about eight days after these sayings Jesus took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray...

Jesus said to the disciples, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy...

"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law...

"Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find...

When the crowds were increasing, Jesus began to say, "This generation is an evil generation...

Jesus said, "When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do...

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him...

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness...

After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth...

Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often...
